Pacheco and Krauss go deep, O’Grady turns in quality start as Ducks even series

(Lancaster, Pa., July 22, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers 5-1 on Saturday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

GAME VIDEO: Highlights from the victory

Long Island opened the scoring in the second inning on an RBI single to center field by Dan Lyons off of Barnstormers starter Rommie Lewis. Two more runs in the third on an opposite-field two-run home run by Jordan Pacheco extended the lead to 3-0.

Marc Krauss joined the homer party in the fifth with a towering solo blast that cleared the picnic tables in right. Lancaster got on the scoreboard in the sixth courtesy of a two-out RBI single to right by Cole Garner off of Ducks starter Dennis O’Grady. However, a two-out RBI single up the middle by Anthony Vega in the ninth put the game out of reach.

O’Grady (5-6) earned the victory, pitching six innings of one-run ball, allowing just three hits while striking out two. Lewis (5-7) took the loss, yielding four runs on 11 hits and three walks in six innings with three strikeouts. Jake Dunning, Amalio Diaz and David Aardsma combined to pitch three scoreless innings of relief for the Ducks, allowing just one walk while striking out five batters.

Delta Cleary Jr. led the Flock with three hits, while Pacheco, Krauss, Lyons and Angelo Songco each added two. Pacheco also drove in two runs and scored one.
