Best-of-five series between Ducks and Skeeters commences on September 25th
 

The Atlantic League Championship Series matchup has been finalized! The Freedom Division champion Sugar Land Skeeters will battle the Liberty Division champion Long Island Ducks in the 2018 Atlantic League Championship Series, which will start on Tuesday, September 25th.

The Skeeters clinched their third Freedom Division title in franchise history on Sunday evening with a thrilling 10-6 victory in 10 innings over the Lancaster Barnstormers at Constellation Field. It marks Sugar Land’s third Freedom Division Championship in franchise history after previously winning the division in 2014 and 2016. They went on to claim the Atlantic League Championship in 2016 over Long Island.

The Ducks earned their seventh Division Championship in team history and sixth Liberty Division Championship in the past eight seasons with 3-2 win, also in 10 innings, over the Somerset Patriots on Sunday evening at TD Bank Ballpark. Long Island has claimed division titles in 2004, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018, and they went on to win the Atlantic League Championship in three of those seasons (2004, 2012, 2013).

Long Island and Sugar Land now meet in the best-of-five Atlantic League Championship Series to determine this year’s champion. Games One and Two of the series will be hosted by the Skeeters at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas, on Tuesday, September 25th and Wednesday, September 26th. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT. Following a day off, the Ducks will then host Games Three, Four (if necessary) and Five (if necessary) on Friday, September 28th, Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th. Game time for Games Three and Four is slated for 6:35 p.m. EDT, while Game Five is scheduled to get underway at 5:05 p.m.
