First 2,500 fans in attendance to receive Commemorative T-Shirts
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 4, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks today announced that the team will be hosting Alzheimer’s Awareness Night at the ballpark on Wednesday, August 23, presented by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA). CLICK HERE to secure your seats.
“We’re pleased to work with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America to utilize the ballpark as a platform for greater Alzheimer’s awareness,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “We are happy to support the AFA’s efforts and look forward to partnering with them on August 23.”
The first 2,500 fans in attendance for the game against the Sugar Land Skeeters will receive Commemorative T-Shirts, courtesy of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. All fans will be able to receive free educational information about Alzheimer’s disease and programs and services which are available to help individuals living with the disease and their family caregivers.
“50,000 Long Islanders are living with Alzheimer’s right now. AFA is very pleased to once again partner with the Long Island Ducks to help raise awareness about this disease and let people know where they can turn to get help if Alzheimer’s enters their life or the life of their loved one,” said Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr., President & CEO of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
First pitch for the game on August 23 is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The night will also be a Waddle In Wednesday, with a special item in the store available at a 20{2db62e8169997a8d599beca7d6013ac1e46056278d69ddd3df039f4c0be21f7d} discount. The selected item will be announced the morning of the game on LIDucks.com and inside the ballpark throughout the game.

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s (AFA) mission is to provide optimal care and services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses and to their families and caregivers.
