(York, Pa., Sept. 5, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 12-9 on Saturday evening in the fifth game of a six-game series at WellSpan Park.
The Ducks took an immediate 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning as Wilmer Difo and Henry Kusiak belted back-to-back solo home runs on the first two pitches of the night thrown by Revolution starter Julian Costa. The visitors made it 3-0 in their favor later in the frame thanks to a René Pinto RBI double. York cut the deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the first on Brian Rey’s sacrifice fly and Jackson Ross’ run-scoring double versus Long Island starter Nick Margevicius.
The Flock scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings thanks to a Gavin Collins RBI base hit, Kusiak’s run-scoring single and Anthony’s Garcia’s 384-foot solo round tripper run to left-center field. Kole Kaler’s 391-foot leadoff solo tater over the Arch Nemesis in left made it 7-3 in the fifth. Wilmer Difo followed with an infield single, and later in the inning stole his 56th base of the campaign, tying Mel Stocker (2006) for the most bags swiped in a single season in franchise history. Difo would score in that same frame on Garcia’s RBI base hit which made it 8-3 Ducks. Kusiak’s two-run single in the sixth gave Long Island a 10-3 cushion.
Garcia’s second four-bagger of the ballgame led off the seventh as it traveled 369-feet from home plate to left-center for his fourth hit of the evening. Garcia put the icing on the cake on a historic night in the Keystone State as he blasted his third-home run of the contest in the ninth, a mammoth 403-foot solo shot again to left-center, making him just the fourth player in franchise history to hit three home runs in a game, joining Ray Navarrete (June 8, 2008, vs. Newark), Dustin Woodcock (July 13, 2022, vs. Lexington) and Chance Sisco (June 17, 2023, at York).
Margevicius (5-2) picked up the win, allowing six runs (five earned) on 10 hits in six and two-thirds innings pitched, striking out five. Costa (9-3) suffered the loss, giving up eight runs on 14 hits in four innings of work, walking and striking out three. Ramon Santos retired the only batter he faced in Devonte Brown for his team-leading 12th save of the campaign.
Garcia became the first Ducks player in 2026 with five hits in a game and drove in four runs. Kusiak had four hits, four RBIs and a run scored. Difo had two hits, an RBI, three runs scored and two walks. Kaler tallied three hits, an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. Pinto had two hits and an RBI. Collins had a pair of hits, an RBI and a run scored as Long Island finished with 20 hits and six home runs, both matching season-highs in 2026.
