(Lancaster, Penn., July 7, 2012)
– The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 8-3 on Saturday night in the third game of a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

The Barnstormers scored the game’s first run in the second on a solo home run by Ryan Harvey off Ducks starter Nick Singleton. The Ducks answered back with two runs in the third off Lancaster starter Horacio Ramirez on RBI singles from Brandon Sing and James McOwen.

Fehlandt Lentini tied the game at two with a solo homer in the third, and two more runs in the fourth on a two-run double off the bat of Kody Kirkland put Lancaster ahead 4-2. Following a rain delay, a three-spot in the seventh and another in the eighth for the ‘Stormers rounded out the scoring.

After Ramirez lasted just three innings, Alan Johnson (7-4) earned the win. The righty tossed four scoreless innings of relief, allowing just three hits while striking out three. Singleton (1-1) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs on six hits in five innings of work.

Eight of the nine Ducks batters had a hit in the game. Sing, Timo Perez, Ray Navarrete and Matt Fleishman each had two to lead the way.

The Ducks and Barnstormers wrap up their four-game set on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 6:00 p.m., at Clipper Magazine Stadium.
