(Lancaster, Penn., Oct. 3, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 5-1 on Wednesday night in Game One of the Atlantic League Championship Series at Clipper Magazine Stadium. The Barnstormers now lead the best-of-five series one game to none.

Lancaster struck first in the second inning on a run-scoring error by Shawn Williams off the bat of Adam Godwin. It stayed that way until the sixth inning when Kody Kirkland hit a solo homer to right off Ducks starter Randy Keisler.

Long Island answered with a run in the seventh on a two-out single to right by Kraig Binick. However, Ryan Harvey launched a two-out three-run homer to right-center in the bottom of the frame off Ducks reliever Jeremy Hill to put the game out of reach.

Dwayne Pollok (2-0) picked up the win, tossing six scoreless innings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out five. Keisler (0-1) suffered the hard-luck loss, surrendering two runs (one earned) on seven hits with four strikeouts in six and two-thirds innings.

Binick, Joash Brodin and Mitch Canham led the Ducks with two hits apiece.
