(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 11, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks hosted another successful Jewish Heritage Night at Fairfield Properties Ballpark. A near-sellout crowd of 5,902 fans attended the series opener between the Long Island Ducks and York Revolution.
The night featured Ducks players and coaches wearing commemorative jerseys, which were auctioned off from August 4-11. Fans were able to place bids on these game-worn jerseys via the LiveSource mobile app, with proceeds benefiting the Jewish Community Centers of Long Island via the QuackerJack Foundation, the charitable arm of the Ducks. Fans were handed out Israeli and American flags upon entering the ballpark and enjoyed various Jewish-themed promotions and music throughout the game. Following the game, all fans in attendance were treated to a Fireworks Spectacular.
On the field, the Ducks dropped the series opener 12-8 to the Revolution. Wilmer Difo led the way at the plate for the Flock with two singles, a solo home run, three runs scored and a walk. Anthony Garcia returned to the lineup and collected an RBI single, a two-run homer and a pair of walks. Jacob Robson chipped in with a double, an RBI triple, a run and a walk, while Aaron Takacs had three hits.
The Revolution were led by Brian Rey, who had a home run and five RBIs. Jacob Teter chipped in with a pair of solo home runs, a single and a walk for the visitors, while Jackson Ross contributed with three hits, an RBI, two runs and a walk.
York starting pitcher Julian Costa (7-2) picked up the win, giving up six runs (five earned) on 11 hits in five and one-third innings, walking two while striking out four. Long Island starter Ryan Cardona (3-3) suffered the loss, surrendering seven runs on seven hits in four innings of work, walking five while striking out a pair of batters.
The Ducks and Revolution continue their six-game set on Wednesday evening. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Fairfield Properties Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). It’s World Cup Soccer Night at the ballpark, and the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive Ducks Scarves, presented by SUSA. It’s also a Main Event Wednesday and a Waddle In Wednesday at the ballpark. Right-hander Michael Dominguez (5-2, 4.85) takes the mound for the Ducks against Revolution righty Nick Mikolajchak (3-1, 2.52).
