Long Island quickly struck for two runs in the first on a RBI single by Cody Puckett and a RBI double by Joash Brodin off Lancaster starter Clayton Tanner. A bases loaded walk to Keith Castillo and a sacrifice fly to left off the bat of Dan Lyons in the third doubled the lead to four.
The Barnstormers cut the deficit to 4-1 in the fifth on a solo home run to right by James Skelton off Ducks starter John Brownell. However, two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth pushed Long Island’s advantage to 9-1. A two-run single by Lyons, a RBI triple by Brodin, a RBI single by Randy Ruiz and a run-scoring fielder’s choice off the bat of Jon Myers did the damage.
Brownell (4-3) earned the win, tossing all nine innings, allowing just two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out eight. Tanner (2-3) took the loss, yielding four runs on eight hits and three walks in two and two-thirds innings.
Brodin and Puckett led the Flock with three hits apiece, while Lentini and Brendan Harris each added two.

Duck Tales: John Brownell earned his first complete game of the season and second by a Duck in 2014. Shaun Garceau tossed the first on May 25 at Sugar Land. Brownell led the Atlantic League in 2013 with seven complete games. The right-hander has now won four of his last five starts and tossed three consecutive quality starts. In those three starts, he has a 2.05 ERA, allowing just five runs in 22 innings of work…Cody Puckett extended his on-base streak to 25 games with three hits in the game. That ties him with Lew Ford for the longest on-base streak in the Atlantic League this season. Ford put together his streak from May 3 to 30. The second baseman has at least one hit in 22 of the 25 games during the streak. In addition, he earned his team-leading fifth three-hit game of the year, including his second consecutive three-hit night and third in the last four games. He now leads the Flock with 15 multi-hit games…Joash Brodin extended his on-base streak to 23 consecutive games with three hits and finished just a homer shy of the cycle. That’s the second-longest streak in the league this year behind Ford and Puckett’s. Brodin now has three three-hit games this season and nine multi-hit contests…With two hits and a run scored in the game, Fehlandt Lentini has now earned at least one hit and one run in 10 of his last 11 games. Eight of those 10 games have been multi-hit contests. The outfielder is now second on the Flock with nine two-hit games and has 14 multi-hit games this year.
