Both teams exchanged zeroes for the first five innings, but the Ducks took a 1-0 lead in the sixth on a two-out RBI single to center by Tyler Colvin off Blue Crabs starter Tim Sexton. Jamar Walton answered with a two-out, two-run home run to right field off Ducks starter John Brownell in the bottom of the frame to put the hosts in front for good at 2-1.

Brownell (4-2) suffered the hard luck loss, giving up just two runs on six hits and a walk over eight innings with 10 strikeouts for his second consecutive complete game. Cody Eppley collected his ninth save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning.

Mike Blanke led the Ducks offensively with two hits. Despite the loss, Brownell moved into sole possession of first place on the Ducks’ all-time games started list with his 92nd in a Ducks uniform.
