Seven Ducks relievers combine for six-hit shutout
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 30, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks shut out the Sugar Land Skeeters 2-0 on Saturday night in the third game of a four-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

The only runs of the ballgame came in the bottom of the fifth inning. Following a walk to Mike Blanke and a single by Anthony Vega, Delta Cleary Jr. put the Ducks ahead with a two-run single to center field.
Seven Ducks pitchers combined for the shutout and allowed just six hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters. Eury De La Rosa started the game and threw three scoreless innings, giving up just one hit with three strikeouts. Scott Shuman (3-3) collected the win with a scoreless fifth inning, walking one while striking out one. Skeeters starter Sean Gallagher (7-5) suffered the loss, yielding two runs on six hits and two walks with five strikeouts over six innings. Todd Coffey earned his 17th save with a scoreless ninth inning.
Vega and Ruben Gotay each had two hits to lead the Ducks offensively.
The Ducks and Skeeters wrap up their four-game set on Sunday evening. Game time is slated for 5:05 p.m. with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 4:05 (3:50 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks Striped Logo T-Shirts, courtesy of the Tri-State Buick and GMC Dealers of Long Island. It’s also a Sunday Family Funday! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Ducks. After the game, kids and kids at heart can take part in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union.
