Ducks total ten hits to even series
(Central Islip, N.Y., June 28, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 3-1 on Tuesday night in the second game of a four-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

Michael Burgess’ two-out RBI double gave the Revolution a 1-0 advantage in the first inning. The Ducks took a 2-1 lead in the second on RBI singles from Mike Blanke and Mike Dowd. In the eighth, Dan Lyons scored on a wild pitch to round out the scoring.
Darin Downs (5-4) was the winning pitcher, striking out 10 over seven innings while allowing one run on three hits. James Simmons (4-3) took the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits and a walk. The righty struck out four over six innings. Todd Coffey earned his 11th save with a scoreless ninth.
Lyons led the Ducks at the plate with four hits, while Fehlandt Lentini chipped in two.
The Ducks and Revolution continue their four-game series on Wednesday night. Game time is set for 6:35 p.m. with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks Logo T-Shirts, courtesy of Capital One. It’s also Winning Inning Wednesday, and one lucky fan has the chance to win $10,000 if a specific occurrence happens during a designated inning. Right-hander Bruce Kern (1-1, 1.87 ERA) toes the rubber for the Ducks against York righty Tony Pena (5-2, 3.95 ERA).
