(Camden, N.J., June 20, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 6-2 on Wednesday night in the second game of a three-game series at Campbell’s Field.
GAME AUDIO: James McOwen’s solo homer in the sixth, his third of the year
GAME AUDIO: McOwen’s RBI single to center in the seventh
Camden took an early lead on a first inning solo homer to right from Brian Burgamy and a RBI double by Jake Eigsti in the second off Ducks starter Dan Meyer. Single runs in the fourth and fifth on sac fly to right by Eigsti and a RBI fielder’s choice of the bat of Pedro Feliz stretched the lead to four.
James McOwen cut the deficit in half with a solo homer to right in the sixth off Riversharks starter Bryan Corey and a RBI single to center in the seventh. However, two more runs for Camden in the eighth put the game away.
Corey (4-4) got the win, tossing five and two-thirds innings, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out two. Meyer (1-4) took the loss, yielding three runs (two earned) on four hits and four walks in four innings of work.
McOwen and Dan Lyons led the Ducks with two hits apiece.
