Lew Ford collects pair of hits in middle game of series

(Central Islip, N.Y., June 19, 2018) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Sugar Land Skeeters 7-2 on Tuesday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Ducks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on Lew Ford’s two-out RBI double to right field off Skeeters starter Dallas Beeler. Sugar Land answered back with two-out RBI singles by Alvaro Rondon and Anthony Giansanti in the second to take a 2-1 lead.

It stayed that way until the sixth when back-to-back solo home runs by Kyle Kubitza and Courtney Hawkins off Ducks starter Jair Jurrjens increased the Skeeters lead to 4-1.
