Three unanswered runs in the final two innings propel York
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 19, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 5-4 on Saturday night at Bethpage Ballpark in the second game of a three-game series.

Long Island grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on an Adam Bailey sacrifice fly off York starter Logan Williamson. The Revs tied the game at one in the top of the second on a solo home run from Travis Garcia off Ducks starter Bobby Blevins.
York took the lead in the the fifth on a run-scoring wild pitch with the bases loaded. However, the Ducks responded in the bottom of the sixth with a two-run single from Joash Brodin to take the lead back at 3-2. Adam Bailey increased the advantage to two with a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.
The Revolution tied the game in the top of the eighth on a pair of sacrifice flies from Chad Tracy and Salvador Paniagua. Another sacrifice fly in the ninth from Garcia put York in front for good.
Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision. Blevins allowed two runs over six and two-third innings on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts. Williamson yielded one unearned run on eight hits and one walk with one strikeout over five innings of work. Stephen Penney (3-1) earned the win after tossing a scoreless inning of relief. Jon Meloan (0-2) took the loss, allowing one run on two hits with two strikeouts in one inning. Rommie Lewis earned his 21st save of the year with a scoreless ninth inning.
Lew Ford and Brodin paced the Ducks with three hits, while Brendan Harris added two.
Long Island concludes their three-game series with York on Sunday evening. First pitch is slated for 5:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 4:05. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Doug Geed Bobbleheads, courtesy of News 12 Long Island. It’s also a Sunday Family Funday at the Duck Pond! Prior to the game, fans will be invited onto the field for an autograph session with the Ducks. After the game, kids and kids at heart can take part in Kids Run the Bases, presented by Bethpage Federal Credit Union. The Ducks will also be hosting a food drive in conjunction with Long Island Cares and the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Fans are asked to donate non-perishable food items by dropping them off in the collection boxes located on the plaza outside the ballpark. Duck Tales: Fehlandt Lentini earned another hit on Saturday and has now hit safely 39 of his last 40 games, including 18 straight. In the 40 games, he is batting .343 (60-for-175), and in his current 18-game hitting streak, he’s hitting .305 (25-for-82). The first-year Duck currently leads the Atlantic League in doubles (27) and at-bats (335) while ranking second in stolen bases (31), third in runs (56) and fourth in batting average (.321)… Lew Ford picked up three hits on Saturday for his team-leading 11th three-hit game this year. The 2014 All-Star has multiple hits in eight of his last 15 games and has 26 hits in his last 60 at-bats, good for a .433 batting average. Ford leads the Flock with 32 multi-hit games this year and leads the Atlantic League in hits (110), RBI (60) and games played (78). He ranks second in batting average (.365), runs (60), total bases (164), on-base percentage (.436) and slugging percentage (.545)…With two hits on Saturday, Brendan Harris earned his 12th two-hit game and 15th multi-hit game of the year. The first-year Duck has now reached base safely in 12 consecutive games and is hitting .325 (13-for-40) during that span…Joash Brodin earned his fourth three-hit game of the year on Saturday. The second-year Duck now has 17 multi-hit games this season…Adam Bailey earned his second consecutive multi-RBI game and 13th of the season with two runs batted in on Saturday. He has now hit safely in nine consecutive games and is batting .405 (15-for-37) during the streak…Bill Hall made his first start of the year for the Ducks on Saturday and earned his first hit with a single in the bottom of the sixth inning. The second-year Duck led the team in home runs (16) and walks (45) last year while ranking second in RBI (60)…Saturday’s crowd of 6,636 was the Ducks’ seventh past-capacity crowd of the 2014 season. Long Island has now hosted 634 sellouts all-time, an Atlantic League record.
