(Lancaster, Pa., Sept. 18, 2025) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lancaster Stormers 5-1 on Thursday night in the rubber game of a three-game series at Penn Medicine Park and the final game of the 2025 season.
Long Island took a 3-0 advantage in the top half of the first inning on Ivan Castillo’s 369 foot three-run home run to right field versus Lancaster starting pitcher Luke McCollough. The Flock made it 5-0 in their favor in the second on Troy Viola’s RBI triple and Kole Kaler’s run-scoring groundout. The Stormers broke up the shutout in the home half of the ninth frame thanks to a one-out solo home run to right field off the bat of Mason Martin.
Ducks starting pitcher Leonardo Taveras registered a no-decision as the right-hander tossed four scoreless innings on just two hits allowed to go along with a pair of walks and six strikeouts. Jacob Asa (4-3) picked up the win in relief retiring all three batters he faced, striking out two in the process. McCullough (0-4) was tagged with the loss, surrendering five runs on four hits across five innings pitched, walking four and striking out two batters.
