Flock drop second-to-last road game of first half

(York, Penn., June 28, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 7-1 Saturday night at Santander Stadium in the third game of a four-game series.

York took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a leadoff, solo home run from Justin Greene off Ducks starter John Brownell. Long Island evened the ballgame the next inning on a RBI groundout from Keith Castillo off Revolution starter Corey Thurman.

The Revolution regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on a RBI groundout from Ofilio Castro and a RBI double from Travis Garcia. Johan Limonta extended the York lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning with a solo home run.

The Revolution added three more runs in the bottom of the eighth inning on a RBI single from Chad Tracy and a two-run double from Salvador Paniagua to cap the scoring.

Brownell (7-4) received the loss, allowing seven runs on 11 hits, one walk and five strikeouts over seven and one-third innings. Thurman (3-1) earned the win for York, yielding one run on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts in five innings of work.

Joash Brodin paced the Ducks bats with two hits, while Castillo added the lone RBI of the evening for Long Island.

The Ducks and Revolution will conclude their series Sunday evening at Santander Stadium. Ducks starter Bobby Blevins will face-off against York southpaw Logan Williamson. Long Island returns home on Monday, June 30 for a single admission doubleheader against the Bridgeport Bluefish.
