(Merrick, N.Y., October 2, 2015) – On Friday, October 2, QuackerJack visited the Norman J. Levy Lakeside School to kick of PARP Week. PARP, which stands for Parents As Reading Partners, is a program designed to encourage families to spend time together through reading.
This year’s theme was SPORTS (Special People Often Read Together), and no one was a better representative than QuackerJack! As part of the festivities, students from Levy Lakeside School lined up outside their classrooms to meet Long Island’s favorite mascot. Led by the school’s principals, QJ high-fived each child and led them all in a “Let’s Go Ducks” chant.
QuackerJack and the Long Island Ducks Street Team will be at the following events during the month of October. If you’re there, be sure to stop by and say hello to Long Island’s favorite mascot!
October 15: Central Islip Fire Department Open House (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
October 24: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk at Bethpage Ballpark
If you’re looking to have QuackerJack appear at your next event, fill out this form and mail it back to 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip, NY 11722 Attn: Mascot Appearance.
