The Ducks opened up a 3-0 lead in the second inning against Barnstormers starter Nate Reed. Reegie Corona’s RBI ground rule double to left-center field and Lew Ford’s two-run single to center highlighted the frame. The Barnstormers pulled even in the fourth with three runs off of Ducks starter Billy Buckner. RBI singles from Brandon Jones and Anderson Feliz, along with a run-scoring double play ball, did the damage.

However, Long Island got all three runs back in the bottom of the inning. Jon Griffin’s two-run single to center and Cody Puckett’s RBI single to right accounted for the scoring. Brian Cavazos-Galvez hit a solo homer in the fifth to cut the lead to 6-4, but the Ducks again got the run back thanks to a bases loaded walk to Corona in the seventh.

Buckner (5-1) picked up the victory, tossing five innings, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three. Reed (1-5) suffered the loss, surrendering six runs on 10 hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in three and two-thirds innings. Ryan Kussmaul earned his 20th save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Corona and Bryan Sabatella each had three hits to lead the Flock. Corona tallied two RBI and two runs, while Sabatella scored twice.
