Duck Tales: The Ducks launched three home runs in Monday’s game, tying a season-high. Long Island also went deep three times on Saturday against Somerset, July 5 against Somerset, May 14 against Bridgeport and May 2 against Sugar Land. The Ducks have now gone deep in six consecutive games, hitting 11 longballs in that span. As a team, they’ve hit 55 homers this year, which ranks second in the league behind Lancaster (65)…Steve McQuail’s solo home run in the fourth inning was his fifth of the season in five starts (six games) with Long Island. Four of the five have come on this homestand. The Wantagh native has now collected seven hits in his first 21 at-bats this year (.333 batting average)…Randy Ruiz’s two-run homer in the sixth inning was his sixth of the season. Four of the six have come at home and have come during the month of July. The former Major Leaguer has now gone deep in two of the last three games and three of the last nine contests…Dan Lyons’ solo homer in the seventh inning was his sixth of the season, the most he has hit in a single season with the Ducks. He’s also one shy of tying his career-high for homers in a year, which he did in 2008 with Single-A Hagerstown and Advanced-A Potomac. It was also the shortstop’s first longball since July 3, ending a 12-game homerless drought…Amalio Diaz worked another scoreless eighth inning. The right-hander has now allowed just two runs over his last 20 appearances, posting a 0.82 ERA in that span. He has given up just 12 hits and one walk over 22 innings in those games while striking out 27 batters.
