(York, Pa., Aug. 6, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 8-5 in 12 innings on Thursday night in the final game of a three-game series at WellSpan Park.
York took a 2-0 lead in the opening inning on Nick Dunn’s RBI double to left-center field and Shed Long Jr.’s sacrifice fly to center off Ducks starter Michael Dominguez. It stayed that way until the fifth when Henry Kusiak’s run-scoring groundout to second scored Wilmer Difo, cutting Long Island’s deficit to one. The Ducks tied the game at two in the seventh when Jacob Robson walked, stole second, moved to third and scored on a wild pitch by Tanner bauman.
Terrell Tatum gave the Ducks a 3-2 lead in the ninth with a leadoff 406-foot solo home run to left-center field. However, a two-out wild pitch by Ramon Santos scored Pedro Moreno to tie the game at three. Marcus Chiu put the Ducks back on top in the 10th with an RBI double to right-center, but Jacob Teter answered with an RBI single to right in the bottom f the frame to tie it up at four.
Long Island reclaimed the lead with a four-run 12th, highlighted by RBI singles from Aaron Takacs and Tatum plus a two-run double by Jorge Bonifacio. An RBI double by Brian Rey in the bottom of the 12th closed the gap to 8-5, but Bonifacio’s leaping catch at the wall on a drive to right by Long Jr. preserved the win for the Flock.
Neither starter factored into the decision. Dominguez allowed two runs in four innings on four hits and six walks with one strikeout. Nick Mikolajchak pitched four scoreless innings, yielding one hit and four walks with four strikeouts. Jose Cruz (1-0) picked up the win, pitching two innings and giving up two unearned runs on four hits with a strikeout. Zach Sabers (0-1) took the loss, surrendering four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks in two innings. Garrett Crowley earned his first save after retiring three consecutive hitters in the 12th, striking out two.
The Ducks continue their road trip on Friday night when the open a four-game series against the Staten Island FerryHawks. Long Island returns home on Tuesday, August 11, to begin a six-game series with the Revolution. Game time is slated for 5:05 p.m., with the Fairfield Properties Ballpark gates opening at 4:05 (3:50 for full season ticket holders).
