York opened the scoring with three two-out runs in the first inning against Ducks starter Jack Snodgrass. A bases loaded walk to Kevin Rivers and a two-run single by Alfredo Marte did the damage. Long Island answered with a run in the bottom of the frame on Cody Puckett’s sacrifice fly to left field off Revolution starter Ty’Relle Harris.

Three more runs came across for the Revolution in the second on RBI singles from Joel Guzman and Andres Perez along with a passed ball. Josh Wilson’s solo homer to left-center in the third increased the lead to 7-1. The Ducks stormed back with four runs in the fourth inning to cut their deficit to 7-5. Ruben Gotay’s two-run double, a run-scoring groundout from Matt Wessinger and an RBI single by Anthony Vega highlighted the inning.

An RBI ground rule double by Michael Burgess in the sixth put York on top by three. Wessinger’s two-run homer to left in the bottom of the inning trimmed York’s advantage to 8-7, but the Ducks could not even the score.

Manny Corpas (1-0) collected the win after pitching one and one-third scoreless innings of relief. Snodgrass (5-6) suffered the loss, surrendering six runs (five earned) on six hits and three walks with three strikeouts in two innings. Ricardo Gomez earned his first save of the year with a scoreless ninth. Harris did not factor into the decision after lasting three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four.

Vega and Gotay led the Flock with two hits apiece, while Wessinger drove in three runs.
