York jumped out to an early lead with a two-run double by Chris Nowak off Ducks starter Nick Singleton in the top of the first. Long Island would cut the lead in half on a RBI double by Ray Navarrete off Revolution starter Derrick Gordon in the bottom of the frame.

A RBI single by Brandon Haveman in the top of the fourth pushed the lead back to two, but a RBI double by Bryant Nelson and a run-scoring sac fly off the bat of Navarrete tied the game at three in the fifth. Jeff Fiorentino hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh to give York a 4-3 lead. However, the Ducks would answer with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead for good. A sac fly to center by Joash Brodin and a RBI infield single by Kraig Binick gave the Flock the win.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Singleton pitched four and one-third innings, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks, and Gordon surrendered three runs on four hits while striking out three in four and one-third innings. Jeremy Hill (4-3) picked up the win with a perfect inning, while R.J. Rodriguez (0-3) was saddled with the loss, surrendering two runs (one earned) in one inning of relief. Armando Benitez picked up his first save as a Duck with a scoreless ninth.

Navarrete and Binick led the Flock with two hits apiece at the plate.
