(North Babylon, N.Y., Oct. 20, 2024) – On Sunday, QuackerJack and the Long Island Ducks attended the 2024 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, held at Belmont Lake State Park.
This year’s walk was held in memory of Bud Harrelson, the former New York Mets infielder, as well as co-founder and co-owner of the Long Island Ducks. Bud fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s since his diagnosis in 2016 before tragically passing in January of 2024. The Long Island Ducks were honored to be able to take part in this year’s walk, not only to bring awareness to and support the fight against Alzheimer’s, but to do so in Bud’s name.
QJ had the opportunity to meet and greet those participating in the walk, including the friends and families who were there to support them!
The Long Island Ducks are entering their 25th Anniversary season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Fairfield Properties Ballpark in Central Islip, N.Y. They are the all-time leader in wins and attendance in Atlantic League history, have led all MLB Partner Leagues in total attendance for four consecutive seasons, and have sold out a record 713 games all-time.
