(Central Islip, N.Y., April 2, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks today announced the signing of Cy Young Award winning pitcher Trevor Bauer. He begins his first season with the Ducks, 15th in professional baseball and is currently projected to serve as the club’s opening night starter on April 21 at Fairfield Properties Ballpark. Additionally, Bauer will be “Mic’d Up” for all games and practices for the purposes of content creation to be featured on his and the team’s social media and streaming outlets.

“We are excited to welcome Trevor to Long Island,” said Ducks President/CBO Michael Pfaff. “His talent and knowledge will be important additions to our ballclub, and we are happy to offer him this opportunity to showcase his talents to MLB clubs while giving fans unprecedented access to Ducks baseball.”

Bauer, a first round (third overall) pick of Arizona in the 2011 MLB Draft, reached the Major League level in 2012 and stayed there for 10 seasons, pitching for the Diamondbacks, Indians, Reds, and Dodgers, while amassing 83 wins in 212 big league starts. His best season came in his Cy Young campaign of 2020, where he registered a 1.73 ERA and allowed just 41 hits while striking out 100 batters in 73 innings of work for the Reds. Bauer has spent the past three seasons pitching in Japan and Mexico.

“I’m looking forward to competing in front of U.S. fans again this season,” said Bauer. “The Ducks have had some incredible players come through their organization, and I’m excited to be part of that tradition.”
