Ford leads the way with four hits, two runs scored
(Bridgewater, N.J., August 27, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Somerset Patriots 6-1 on Wednesday night in the second game of a three-game series at TD Bank Ballpark.

Long Island took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first on a Lew Ford RBI double and a Bill Hall sacrifice fly off Somerset starter David Harden. The Patriots responded in the bottom of the first on a RBI single from Luis Montanez to trim the Ducks lead to 2-1.
A Brandon Bantz RBI triple in the second and a Bantz RBI single in the third extended the Flock lead to 4-1. The Ducks later capped the scoring in the ninth on a two-run single from Adam Bailey.
Bob Zimmermann (2-2) earned the win after tossing a scoreless inning of relief. Harden (1-4) took the loss, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Arguello received a no-decision, yielding one run over four innings on five hits and one walk while striking out four.
Ford paced the Ducks with four hits and two runs scored, while Bantz, Bailey and Fehlandt Lentini each contributed two hits.
Long Island concludes its three-game series against the Somerset Patriots on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 7:05 p.m. from TD Bank Ballpark. Right-hander John Brownell gets the start for the Ducks against Patriots southpaw Matt Zielinksi. The Ducks will return home on Friday, August 29 to kick off a four-game series against the Camden Riversharks. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05.
