GAME AUDIO: Highlights from game two

In the second inning of game one, Long Island took a 1-0 lead on Mike Dowd’s sacrifice fly. The Ducks added two more runs in the third on Delta Cleary Jr.’s sac fly and Lew Ford’s infield single.

Barnstormers first baseman K.C. Hobson hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth, but Long Island extended its lead to four in the sixth on Dowd’s two-run single. Mike Jacobs’ RBI single in the sixth made it 5-2, accounting for the final run for Lancaster.

Daniel Herrera (1-1) earned the victory, tossing six innings of six-hit ball, allowing one run. The left-hander struck out four and walked one. Connor Root (0-3) took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks over five and one-third innings. Todd Coffey pitched a scoreless ninth en route to his 24th save.

In game two, Hobson hit a two-run homer to right field off of Ducks starter Freddie Cabrera in the first inning. The Ducks cut the deficit to one on Carlos Hughes’ sac fly and RBI in the third. Long Island tied the game at two in the sixth on Dan Lyons’ RBI fielder’s choice.

However, the Barnstormers rallied in the bottom of the sixth scoring two runs off Ducks reliever Kyle Hansen. RBI singles from Kevin Ahrens and Caleb Gindl did the damage.

Neither starter factored in the decision. Cabrera allowed two runs on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk over three innings. Hitoshi Fujie surrendered one run on one hit, striking out three and walking one in three innings. Pete Andrelczyk (7-2) collected the win, tossing one inning of relief. He allowed one run on two hits. Hansen (1-2) suffered the loss, yielding two runs on four hits and a walk in one inning. Cory Burns tallied his 23rd save with a perfect ninth.

Ford led the Ducks with five hits on the day, while Fehlandt Lentini and Lyons each had two.
