QuackerJack and Ducks Street Team visit hospitals

(Central Islip, N.Y., Feb. 14, 2014) – On Friday, February 14, the Ducks Street Team spent the day delivering Valentine’s Day cards and fun games to the pediatric units at three Long Island hospitals.

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, North Shore LIJ/Southside Hospital in Bay Shore and Stony Brook University Medical Center all received visits from the Ducks. Among those who stopped by the hospitals were Long Island’s favorite mascot, QuackerJack, co-owner/coach Bud Harrelson and manager Kevin Baez.

The visits brought smiles to the faces of children and their parents at each location, with many posing for pictures, giving high fives and enjoying some Valentine’s Day cheer. Many of the children even had the chance to try on an Atlantic League championship ring as well as Buddy’s World Series championship ring.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
