Seven-time Cy Young Award winner Roger Clemens started for the Skeeters and was credited with the win. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, yielding singles to Matt Esquivel in the second and Ray Navarrete in the fourth. He did not allow a walk and struck out just one.

Sugar Land took a 3-0 lead in the opening inning against Ducks starter Randy Keisler. A two out three-run double by Josh Pressley did the damage. It would stay that way until the eighth inning with Pressley added a RBI single, scoring Koby Clemens, the son of Roger Clemens.

Keisler (4-2), making his first start with the Ducks since June 25, suffered the loss. He surrendered three unearned runs on nine hits with two strikeouts in six innings.
