Long Island overcomes 3-0 deficit but falls in extra innings

(Lancaster, Penn., July 13, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 4-3 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon in the final game of a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

GAME AUDIO: Highlights from the series finale

The Barnstormers opened the scoring on a leadoff solo home run by Lance Zawadzki in the bottom of the first off Ducks starter John Brownell. A two-run homer to left by Cole Garner in the third increased the lead to 3-0.

Long Island pulled to within one on single runs in the fifth and sixth off Barnstormers starter Mark Rogers. A RBI triple by Fehlandt Lentini and a balk that scored Lew Ford highlighted the scoring. Ford tied the game in the seventh with a two-out RBI single to left.

It remained 3-3 until the bottom of the 10th when Zawadzki ended the game with a walk-off single down the left field line.
