Franchise-high losing streak ends at 13
(Camden, N.J., July 26, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Camden Riversharks 10-5 Saturday evening at Campbell’s Field in the final game of a three-game series.

Long Island took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning on a Cody Puckett RBI single and a Joash Brodin sacrifice fly off Riversharks starting pitcher Wes Torrez. The Ducks doubled their lead in the top of the fourth on a two-run single from Brendan Harris.
Camden took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with five runs off Ducks starting pitcher Shaun Garceau. A three-run double from Brian Van Kirk and a two-run double from Zack MacPhee did the damage.
The Ducks later tied the ballgame in the top of the sixth inning on a two-out RBI double from Harris. Long Island then took an 8-5 lead in the top of the eighth inning on three consecutive two-out RBI singles from Lew Ford, Bill Hall and Puckett.
The Flock added two more runs in the top of the ninth inning to cap the scoring. A RBI double from Brandon Bantz and a sacrifice fly from Jan Vazquez increased the Ducks lead to 10-5.
Neither starting pitcher factored into the decision. Garceau allowed five runs over four innings of work on six hits and two walks. Torrez yielded five runs on five hits and four walks with one strikeout in five and two-thirds innings pitched. Eric Niesen (3-1) earned win after tossing one-third of an inning. T.J Hose (2-7) took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in one inning of relief. David Kopp earned his first save of the year with two scoreless innings of relief.
Four different Ducks batters had two hits, while Harris led the way with three RBI.
The Ducks begin a four-game series against the Bridgeport Bluefish with a day/night doubleheader on Sunday. Long Island returns home on Saturday, August 2 to open a three-game series against the York Revolution. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05.
