New concessions operator coming to Bethpage Ballpark in 2020
(Central Islip, N.Y., Jan. 29, 2020) – The Long Island Ducks today announced Great South Bay Hospitality, LLC as its exclusive new food and beverage service operator at Bethpage Ballpark, beginning with the 2020 season.
“We are excited to begin a new decade of Ducks baseball with a new concessions provider,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “We look forward to providing our fans with an even greater experience at the ballpark this year.”
Featuring owners and operators with decades of combined experience in the sports, entertainment, food, beverage, stadium operations and hospitality businesses, Great South Bay Hospitality, LLC (“GSBH”) is poised to provide the highest level of service and performance to customers at Bethpage Ballpark. GSBH will operate all concession stands and the Duck Club restaurant/bar at the ballpark, as well as provide catering for all luxury suites and outside events.
GSBH will be led by Alan Goodman, who was recently appointed as General Manager of Food and Beverage. Goodman joins Great South Bay Hospitality with over 40 years’ experience in the food, beverage and hospitality industry. The US Army veteran began his career in the food and beverage business in 1980 with Boston Concessions following his education at Culinary Institute of America. Over two decades as a Regional Manager with the company, his duties included oversight and operation of food and beverage services for several large venues in the Boston Concessions portfolio, including Jones Beach Theatre, the Beacon Theater, Westbury Music Fair, Suffolk Downs Racetrack and LaGuardia Airport.
Following the successful purchase of Boston Concessions by Volume Services, Goodman entered restaurant ownership prior to returning to the facility operations space with J&B Restaurant partners, where he was charged with oversight and operations of 14 Friendly’s Restaurants, as well as concessions operations at Jones Beach and Robert Moses State Park. In addition to these venues, Alan has directed the successful food and beverage operations of the Miami (Fla.) Metro Zoo and 30,000-seat Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Stadium.
“I am honored to be a new team member of Great South Bay Hospitality,” said Goodman. “I look forward to bringing a great experience to Ducks fans and their families by offering fresh and tasty items along with healthy choices.”
