The Ducks opened the scoring in the fourth inning on Fehlandt Lentini’s RBI single to left-center field off Bluefish starter David Kubiak. Bridgeport responded with three runs in the fifth off Ducks starter Bobby Blevins to take a 3-1 lead. RBI doubles by Welington Dotel and Jose Cuevas, along with an RBI single by Gerardo Valentin, did the damage.

Long Island closed to within a run in the bottom of the sixth on Lew Ford’s two-out RBI double down the left field line. However, the Ducks were unable to pull even.

Kubiak (7-4) earned the win with six innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits while striking out eight. Blevins (2-11) took the loss, yielding three runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings with one strikeout. David Carpenter collected his fifth save of the season with a scoreless seventh inning.

Delta Cleary Jr. led the Flock with two hits.

Game two saw the Ducks take the first lead again with two runs in the second inning against Bluefish starter Matthew Spann. Mike Blanke’s RBI single and Tyler Colvin’s RBI double highlighted the scoring.

That was more than enough for Ducks starter Jarret Leverett (5-8) to earn the win. The southpaw tossed five scoreless innings, giving up just two hits and three walks while striking out five. Spann (2-1) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings with three strikeouts. Amalio Diaz picked up his third save with a scoreless seventh, striking out two.

Cleary Jr. had two more hits to pace the offense, while Tyler Colvin added two as well.

The Ducks and Bluefish wrap up their four-game set on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders).
