(Bridgeport, Conn., Aug. 7, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Bridgeport Bluefish 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a three-game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

GAME AUDIO: Fehlandt Lentini scores for the Ducks in the eighth

Neither side plated a run until the bottom of the fifth inning when Luis Nunez laced an RBI double to left-center field off Ducks starter John Brownell. Another run came home in the sixth on Jose Gil’s two-out RBI single to center.

Long Island closed to within 2-1 in the eighth when Fehlandt Lentini doubled and later scored from third on a wild pitch by Bluefish starter Jonathan Albaladejo. However, they stranded the tying run at second in the frame, and Bridgeport got the run back in the bottom of the inning on a two-out RBI double from Sean Burroughs.

Albaladejo (11-4) earned the win, tossing seven innings of one-run ball, allowing six hits while striking out nine. Brownell (8-4) took the hard luck loss, pitching all eight innings and yielding three runs on eight hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Jose Veras collected his ninth save of the year with a scoreless ninth.

Lentini led the Flock with a pair of doubles in the series finale.
