Long Island opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a trio of two-out runs off of Revolution starter Matt Neil. Cody Puckett’s RBI single to right-center field and Jon Griffin’s mammoth two-run home run to left highlighted the inning. It stayed that way until the top of the fifth when York closed to within 3-2 against Ducks starter John Brownell. A RBI single by Shannon Wilkerson and a RBI double by Eric Patterson, both with two outs, did the damage.

The Revolution tied the game in the sixth when Andres Perez scored on a throwing error by Mike Blanke. It would stay 3-3 until the bottom of the 11th inning. Blake Davis walked, was sacrificed to second and scored the winning run on a RBI single to center by Prentice Redman.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Brownell pitched seven innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out seven. Neil also tossed seven innings, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Nick Struck (2-1) picked up the win after tossing a perfect 11th inning, striking out two batters. Shawn Teufel (0-2) suffered the loss, surrendering a run on one hit and three walks in one and one-third innings.

Delta Cleary, Jr. led the Flock with four hits in the game, while Redman added two.
