(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2026) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the York Revolution 7-6 in 10 innings on Thursday night in the third game of a six-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
York took a 2-0 lead in the opening inning against Ducks starter Nick Margevicius on a bases loaded hit by pitch of Jacob Teter and a sacrifice fly to center field off the bat of Shed Long Jr. Anthony Garcia responded in the bottom of the inning with a three-run home run to right off Revolution starter Shawn Rapp to put Long Island in front by a run.
The Ducks added to their lead with a 420-foot solo homer to left in the fourth by René Pinto, making it a 4-2 ballgame. Alsander Womack’s RBI single through the right side in the sixth pushed Long Island’s advantage to three. However, an RBI single to right by Nick Dunn and a two-run homer to left by Brian Rey in the eighth tied the game at three.
York took a 6-5 lead in the ninth on a leadoff solo homer to left by Devonte Brown. However, Wilmer Difo tied the game in the bottom of the ninth with a two-out 395-foot solo homer to right. After York was kept off the scoreboard in the 10th, Jorge Bonifacio won the game in the bottom of the inning with a bases loaded RBI single through the left side.
Neither starter factored into the decision. Margevicius tossed seven innings of two-run ball, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out four. Rapp lasted four innings, conceding four runs on four hits and five walks with four strikeouts. Ramon Santos (2-1) picked up the win, allowing a run on two hits in two innings with one strikeout. Shane Gray (8-3) took the loss, yielding the winning run on two hits and a hit by pitch in the 10th.
Difo led the Ducks with three hits, an RBI and two runs scored. Garcia added two hits, three RBIs, a run and a walk, while Bonifacio chipped in with two hits, an RBI and a run.
The Ducks and Revolution continue their six-game set on Friday night. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Fairfield Properties Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). It’s Bark in the Park, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Ducks Doggie Bag Holders, courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals. It’s also a Tap Room Friday at the ballpark. Left-hander Rio Gomez (1-1, 2.08) gets the start for the Ducks against a Revolution starter to be determined.
