(Bridgeport, Conn., July 29, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 4-2 in 11 innings on Tuesday night in the final game of a four-game series at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

GAME AUDIO: Highlights from the series-clinching win

The Ducks struck first in the opening inning on a run-scoring groundout from Brendan Harris off Bluefish starter D.J. Mitchell. The Bluefish pulled even in the bottom of the frame on a solo home run to left by Prentice Redman off Ducks starter Bobby Blevins.

Lew Ford put Long Island back in front with a two-out RBI single to right-center in the third. It stayed 2-1 all the way until the ninth inning when Austin Gallagher tied the game with a two-out solo homer to right.

Long Island rallied for two runs in the 11th inning to grab the lead for good. A throwing error by Gallagher on a bunt by Cody Puckett scored Adam Bailey, and a RBI single by Joash Brodin capped the inning.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Blevins tossed nine innings, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out eight. Mitchell lasted seven innings, surrendering two runs on nine hits and two walks with eight strikeouts. Brett Lorin (1-1) earned the win, tossing two perfect innings of relief, striking out two. Winston Abreu (0-5) took the loss, surrendering two runs (one earned) on three hits in one inning of relief.

Bailey led the Flock with four hits, while four others each added two.
