Opportunity for fans to exchange tickets from missed games

(Central Islip, N.Y., August 25, 2014) – The Long Island Ducks today announced that August 29 and 31, as well as September 1, 10 and 11, will be “Unused Ticket Days” at Bethpage Ballpark. If you could not make it out to a ballgame during the 2014 season and are still in possession of your unused tickets, the club is offering fans the chance to exchange them for ones of equal or lesser value at the Bethpage Ballpark box office, subject to availability.

“The Ducks are in the midst of an exciting race for the playoffs,” says Ducks president and general manager Michael Pfaff. “We hope that fans will take advantage of this great opportunity to utilize unused tickets from earlier this season and support the Flock in their fight for a postseason berth.”

Ticket holders interested in trading in their unused tickets can do so by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office. Tickets can be exchanged for games August 29, 31 or September 1 against the Camden Riversharks or September 10 or 11 against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. First pitch for the August 29 game is 7:05 p.m., first pitch for the August 31 games is 5:05, and the September 1, 10 and 11 games are all slated to begin at 6:35. A one dollar fee per ticket will be applied to account for the Suffolk County surcharge on all tickets printed.

Highlights for the unused ticket day games include:

August 29
– Ducks Water Bottles go out to the first 1,500 fans in attendance, courtesy of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. The Ducks will also be running their Friday night Pizza Hut K-Man promotion where fans can win an order of free breadsticks!

August 31 – Wubbzy, from the Nick Jr. TV Show “Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!” will be making an appearance at Bethpage Ballpark to say hello to fans and pose for pictures. It will also be Jewish Heritage Night at the Duck Pond, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Commemorative Drawstring Bags, courtesy of the Chabad Jewish Centers of Long Island. Finally, stick around after the game for the Ducks’ second annual Movie Night, featuring the popular baseball movie “The Sandlot”.

September 1 – The Ducks wrap up their four-game series with an exciting Liberty Division matchup against the Camden Riversharks. Help usher in the final month of the regular season and celebrate Labor Day by cheering on the Flock!

September 10 – Long Island will be hosting The Great Plesser’s Giveaway Night! Fans will have the chance to win exciting electronics and appliance prizes every inning throughout the course of the game.

September 11 – Come on out to the Duck Pond as the Ducks do battle with the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, who Long Island has defeated in each of the past three Liberty Division Championship Series matchups!
