Bring your pooch out to the Duck Pond

(Central Islip, N.Y., May 20, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks today announced that they will host the first-ever “Bark in the Park” Night at Bethpage Ballpark on Friday, July 5, presented by Total Pet Care and Natural Balance Pet Foods.

The Ducks will host the cross-sound rival Bridgeport Bluefish on July 5 at 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Dog Bowls. Fans wishing to bring their dogs to the ballgame that night must purchase a “Pooch Pass” which includes a game ticket in special seating at the ballpark and admission for your dog. Passes cost just $13 for field box seating and $12 for box seating and can be obtained at the Bethpage Ballpark box office or online by visiting www.liducksgroups.com and typing in the password “pooch” when prompted.

Only those holding “Pooch Passes” will be allowed to bring their dog into the ballpark, and seating is available on a first come, first serve basis with limited availability. Season ticket and 10-game mini plan holders who wish to bring their dogs to the game can exchange their tickets at the box office for a “Pooch Pass.” On July 5, fans holding “Pooch Passes” will be allowed to enter ONLY through the Hebrew National Picnic Area entrance, which is located down the left field line.

Portions of the proceeds from the first-ever “Bark in the Park” Night will benefit Canine Companions for Independence, which provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge. Join in the fun of watching a Ducks game with your beloved pup while also helping out a charitable cause.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
