Czark family earns distinction for fourth consecutive year

(Central Islip, N.Y., March 17, 2017) – On Friday morning, the Czark Family of Setauket arrived at sunny Bethpage Ballpark 29 hours prior to Long Island Ducks individual game tickets going on sale for the 2017 season. The Czarks will be the first to purchase their tickets when the box office opens at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18 as part of the team’s Opening Day of Ticket Sales.

“We truly admire the dedication shown by the Czark family,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “Their eagerness to spend family time together at the ballpark is what Ducks baseball is all about.”

Christopher Czark and Sharon Czark, along with their twin 10-year-old daughters, Brianna and Kaylin, claimed their spot as “first fans in line” by setting up a tent, chairs and snacks outside the West Gate of the ballpark at 5:00 a.m. Their son, Patrick, 15, will also be camping out and sharing in the fun. The Czarks are prepared with sleeping bags, plenty of warm blankets, board games, baseball mitts and much more.

Everyone is invited to enjoy some family fun on Saturday morning with the Czarks. “Big Mike” from WALK 97.5 will emcee the morning excitement from the ballpark and get fans ready to secure their tickets. QuackerJack will join Ducks manager Kevin Baez and baseball legend Bud Harrelson to meet fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures. There will also be a special appearance by Chipper, the mascot of Ducks official chip partner, Herr’s Potato Chips. The Ducks Bounce House and Speed Pitch will be open for all children to enjoy throughout the morning.

Centerplate, the official concessions partner of the Long Island Ducks, will provide complimentary food and beverages for fans as they wait on line, including coffee, hot chocolate, bagels, donuts and other snacks. The Waddle In Shop, the official merchandise store of the Ducks, will also be open at 9:00 a.m., and fans will be able to stock up on their favorite Ducks gear, including several brand new items, in preparation for the start of baseball season.

All of the fun will lead into the opening of the Bethpage Ballpark box office at 10:00 a.m. Prior to the opening, the Czarks will receive several exciting prizes, courtesy of Ducks sponsor Bethpage Federal Credit Union and the team.
