The Ducks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning against Revolution starter Tony Pena. Delta Cleary Jr.’s RBI groundout and a two-run single by Ruben Gotay highlighted the scoring. Anthony Vega extended the lead to four in the fourth with an RBI triple down the left field line.

York got on the scoreboard in the fifth when Keith Castillo tripled and scored on a passed ball. It stayed that way until the eighth when the Revolution plated five runs to take a 6-4 lead. Josh Wilson’s RBI double, a three-run home run to right field by Jared Mitchell and a solo homer to right-center by Kevin Rivers did the damage.

Long Island closed to within a run in the ninth when Mike Dowd tripled and scored on a wild pitch. However, they could not pull even.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Ducks starter Matt Larkins pitched seven innings, giving up four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out six. Pena lasted six innings, yielding four runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. Michael Click (6-3) picked up the win after pitching a scoreless seventh inning, striking out two. Luis Perdomo (3-2) suffered the loss, surrendering two runs on three hits in one inning of relief. Mike DeMark earned his 35th save of the season despite allowing a run on one hit in the ninth.

Lew Ford led the Flock with two hits, while Gotay drove in a pair of runs.
