Riversharks explode for 11 hits in series finale
(Camden, N.J., June 20, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 9-3 in the finale of a four game series Thursday night at Campbell’s Field.

Long Island opened the scoring on a Joash Brodin RBI single to right field in the third inning. Camden took the lead in the fourth inning on a Delwyn Young RBI double, and a run-scoring single off the bat of Dionys Cesar.
The Riversharks tacked on five runs in the fifth inning, keyed by a Raul Padron two run triple. P.J. Phillips socked a two-run home run to left in the seventh inning, but Camden answered back with two runs in the eighth inning to complete the scoring.
Starter Josh Walter (4-6) earned the win for Camden, throwing six and one-third innings, giving up three runs on seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Ducks starter Connor Graham (3-4) took the loss, letting up five runs on five hits in four and one-third innings.
Brodin and Phillips each recorded two hits for the Ducks, and Phillips drove in two runs.
The Ducks return to Bethpage Ballpark on Friday to open a three-game weekend set with the Sugar Land Skeeters. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. Property of LI Ducks T-Shirts will go out to the first 1,500 fans, courtesy of Petro. The Ducks will also be running their Friday night Pizza Hut K-Man Promotion, and it’s Outback Steakhouse Fridays at the Duck Pond. Lefty Matt Way starts for the Ducks against Sugar Land righthander Scott Elarton.
