Both teams exchanged zeroes until the top of the fifth inning when a wild pitch scored Andrew Lambo, giving Bridgeport a 1-0 lead. Long Island answered back with a five-run sixth inning to jump in front. A two-run single to right field by Jordan Pacheco, an RBI single to right by Elmer Reyes and a two-run double to right by Marc Krauss put the Flock ahead 5-1.

The Ducks tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the eighth to round out the scoring. A leadoff solo homer to center by Angelo Songco and a two-run blast to right-center by Krauss did the damage.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Dennis O’Grady pitched five innings of one-run ball for the Ducks, yielding four hits and three walks while striking out five. Chris Rearick threw five scoreless innings for the Bluefish, giving up three hits and a walk with five strikeouts as well. Eury De La Rosa (2-1) picked up the win after pitching a scoreless inning in the sixth. Danny Burawa (2-2) suffered the loss, surrendering three runs on three walks without record an out in the bottom of the sixth.

Songco, Reyes and Krauss each had two hits to pace the Flock, with Krauss driving in four runs. Pacheco added two RBI and two runs.

Following a day off, the Ducks hit the road on Tuesday to begin a three-game series against the Somerset Patriots. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from TD Bank Ballpark.
