Both teams exchanged zeroes until the top of the fifth inning. With two strikes and two outs, Lew Ford drove a two-run double to right field off of Revolution starter Shawn Hill. York closed to within a run in the sixth on a bases loaded wild pitch by Bruce Kern. However, Patrick Crider struck out Johan Limonta to leave the bases loaded.

Ford would extend the Ducks’ lead with another two-out hit in the seventh, as he drove a two-run home run to right off of Revs reliever Joe Harris. A total of eight Ducks relievers would combine to pitch the final six innings, limiting York to a run on three hits and four walks while striking out seven.

Eric Niesen (1-2) picked up the win, tossing two and one-third innings of relief, allowing a run on one hit and three walks while striking out three. Hill (1-2) suffered the loss, yielding two runs on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings. Amalio Diaz earned his first save with a scoreless ninth. Ducks starter Andrew Barbosa did not factor into the decision in his debut, but he tossed three shutout innings, allowing three walks while striking out two.

Ford led the Flock with three hits and four RBI, while Reegie Corona and Erik Komatsu each added two hits.
