(Central Islip, N.Y., June 25, 2019) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the New Britain Bees 6-2 on Tuesday night in the opener of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

The Bees took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a sacrifice fly to center field off the bat of Jared James. The Ducks answered back in the third when Steve Lombardozzi’s two-run double down the right field line put the Flock in front 2-1.

Long Island extended their lead to 6-1 with a four-run fifth inning off Bees starter Jed Bradley. A bases loaded walk to Deibinson Romero, a two-run double to right by L.J. Mazzilli and a sac fly to center off the bat of Kirk Nieuwenhuis highlighted the inning. New Britain plated a run in the sixth on Jason Rogers’ sac fly to right, but they would get no closer.
