Right-hander earns fifth win in five starts, leading Ducks fourth straight win
(Central Islip, N.Y., Sept. 8, 2021) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 4-2 on Wednesday night in the middle game of a three-game series at Fairfield Properties Ballpark.
Johnni Turbo broke the scoreless deadlock in the third inning with a leadoff solo home run to left field off Blue Crabs starter Daryl Thompson. Two more runs came across in the fourth when Hector Sanchez doubled down the right field line, scoring Deibinson Romero, and Chris Shaw scored on a throwing error.
Southern Maryland closed to within 3-1 in the fifth on Zach Collier’s RBI single to right off Ducks starter Scott Harkin.
