(Lancaster, Penn., Aug. 25, 2012) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Lancaster Barnstormers 7-2 on Saturday night in the second game of a three-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Both teams exchanged zeroes until the fourth inning when the Ducks hit a trio of solo homers off Barnstormers starter Mark Brackman. Bryant Nelson, Brandon Sing and Timo Perez all went deep to give the Flock a 3-0 lead. Another run scored in the fifth on a sac fly to center by Nelson.

Lancaster grabbed a run in the sixth on a RBI single by Bridger Hunt, but Reid Gorecki answered with a two-run homer to left in the seventh. Another solo shot by Josh Johnson in the ninth rounded out the scoring.

Ducks starter Jino Gonzalez did not factor into the decision but set the tone with four scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out three. Bubbie Buzachero (1-1) collected the win, allowing one run in two innings of relief, and Brackman (7-8) suffered the loss, surrendering four runs (three earned) on nine hits in six innings.

Perez led Long Island with three hits at the plate, while four others chipped in with two.

Long Island returns home on Monday, August 27 to open a three-game series against the Camden Riversharks. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at a special time of 5:10 for a softball game between the Suffolk County Police Department and Suffolk County Corrections.
