Long Island takes series from York
(Central Islip, N.Y., Aug. 18, 2013) – The Long Island Ducks beat the York Revolution 6-4 on Sunday night in the finale of a four-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.

Long Island struck first with Ray Navarrete and Willis Otanez hitting sacrifice flies off York starter Zack Segovia in the first inning. The Ducks tacked another run on in the fourth with a RBI single by Ralph Henriquez.
Three more in the fifth inning on a Bryant Nelson RBI double, a Ryan Strieby RBI single and an Adam Bailey run-scoring groundout doubled the lead to six. Salvador Paniagua hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning off Ducks starter James Houser to put York on the board. The Revs added another in the ninth but could not pull even.
Houser (8-2) picked up the win, throwing seven innings, giving up three runs on four hits with seven strikeouts. Segovia (1-3) suffered the loss, allowing 11 hits and six runs in four and one-third innings. Ian Snell pitched the ninth inning to pick up his first save of the season.
Strieby and Josh Barfield led the Ducks with three hits while Nelson chipped in two.
The Ducks hit the road for the first game of a three-game series against the Camden Riversharks on Monday night. First pitch from Campbell’s Field is slated for 7:05. Long Island returns home on Thursday, August 22 when they battle the Somerset Patriots. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 6:05. The first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Buddy Harrelson Bobbleheads, courtesy of Dantona Industries. Tickets for the game and all Ducks regular season home games are now on sale. Duck Tales: With a single in the fifth inning, Ralph Henriquez extended his hitting streak to 11 games, earning at least one hit in 16 of his last 17 games played. During the span he’s hitting .356 (21-for-59) and has raised his average from .214 to .248…Ryan Strieby picked up his second three-hit game of 2013 and ninth multi-hit game overall…Josh Barfield notched his fourth three-hit game and his 23rd multi-hit game on the season…Bryant Nelson had two hits for the 27th time in 2013 and multiple hits for the 33rd time…With his seven innings, James Houser recorded his longest outing of the season. He had previously thrown six innings six times…This win gave the Ducks the series win over the Revolution. Long Island has now won nine of the 12 series they have played in the second half of the season.
