Puckett drives in game-winning run

(Bridgeport, Conn., June 24, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 1-0 on Friday night in the second of a four-game series at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Cody Puckett’s RBI single in the fourth inning proved to be the difference in a pitchers’ duel. Long Island starter Bruce Kern (1-1) struck out eight over seven and one-third innings, yielding four hits. Jonathan Albaladejo (5-3) took the hard luck loss, surrendering one run on five hits with six strikeouts over six and one-third innings. In the ninth, Todd Coffey earned his 10th save.

Delta Cleary Jr. led the Ducks with two hits. Fehlandt Lentini and Blake Tekotte each added a double.

The Ducks and Bluefish continue their four-game set on Saturday. Game time is slated for 6:12 p.m. from the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Long Island returns home on Monday, June 27 to open a four-game set against the Revolution. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders).
