Local band to perform Saturday at 10:00 a.m.; festivities begin at 8:00 a.m.
(Central Islip, N.Y., March 19, 2014) – Tony K & Boardwalk, a Long Island-based rock and roll band, will be performing live at Bethpage Ballpark for “Opening Day of Ticket Sales” this Saturday, March 22. The band will begin playing on the plaza at 10:00 a.m. once the box office opens for individual ticket sales. The rest of the fun is set to get underway at 8:00 a.m. before the ticket windows open.
The five-man crew will play several classic fan favorites, spanning the decades, to entertain fans in attendance. They have garnered a strong local following thanks to catchy tunes and audience-engaging performances. Tony K & Boardwalk ‘brings the songs that made rock and roll what it is today back to life.’
Joining the band for the “Opening Day of Ticket Sales” festivities will be Peppa Pig, the star of the Nick Jr. TV show “Peppa Pig,” along with Long Island’s favorite mascot, QuackerJack. They will be on the plaza posing for pictures with fans, while baseball legend Buddy Harrelson and manager Kevin Baez will sign autographs. Fans will also have the exclusive opportunity to take pictures with the Atlantic League championship trophy. Children will get to enjoy all the fun of the Long Island Ducks Bounce House throughout the morning as well as be the first to enjoy a brand new inflatable slide, the newest addition to Bethpage Ballpark.
Emcees The Wiseman & Frank of B-103 will lead in all of the morning excitement, and fans will be treated to complimentary snacks and beverages, courtesy of Centerplate. Soft drinks will be made available courtesy of Pepsi, with Hebrew National hot dogs, smoothies from Tropical Smoothie Café and Kona Ice frozen ice treats also being handed out. The Waddle In Shop, the official merchandise store of the Ducks, will also be open from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and fans will be able to browse and purchase a wide selection of brand new Ducks apparel.
Finally, individual tickets for all 2014 Ducks games will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. on March 22, and fans are encouraged to arrive early. Bethpage Federal Credit Union will be giving away a $500 gift card for the first fan in line for tickets, and the first 10 fans in line will receive a $10 cash card to spend at Sports Authority.
