First half finale draws 7,602 fans to Bethapage Ballpark
(Central Islip, N.Y., July 3, 2016) – The Long Island Ducks finished the first half of the 2016 season by breaking the club’s all-time attendance record in a 5-2 win over the Sugar Land Skeeters as 7,602 fans packed the club’s 6,002-seat Bethpage Ballpark. The Ducks, attendance leaders in 13 of their 16 seasons of play, also added to the team’s league-record all-time sellout count, which now stands at 656.
“From Day One Long Island has embraced this team and has loved coming out to this ballpark,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “We are thankful for each and every single person that has decided to come out and enjoy a Ducks game and look forward to welcoming them back and continuing to earn new fans with our brand of affordable, family entertainment.”
In addition, the club is just 164,977 fans away from becoming the first team in Atlantic League history to reach 7,000,000 fans, a mark that could potentially be reached later this season.
The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
